AULA INTERNACIONAL 2
LEVELS 4, 5 & 6

We are working on a placement test that will allow our students to go through an online assessment to help them decide which level is best for them.

 

(Coming on April 2020).

LEVEL 4 - Intermediate (instruction is provided in both English & Spanish)

LEVELS 5 and 6 - Advanced (instruction is provided mostly in Spanish)

 

LEVEL 4

UNIDAD 1

- Speaking about habits and difficulties.

- Make recommendations.

- Describe feelings.

- Describe motivations to speaking Spanish.

What you will learn (classes 1-3):

  • Conjugation of Spanish verbs in present and past tense.

  • Reflexive verbs.

  • The reflexive verb costar and sentirse.

  • Para/porque.

  • Desde, desde hace, hace...que.

 

UNIDAD 2

- Describe and correlate past experiences.

- Speaking about timeframes in the past.

What you will learn (classes 4-6):

  • Preterito indefinido (indefenite preterite).

  • Empezar a + infinitive.

  • Ir/irse.

  • Temporal modifiers used in past tense.

  • Prepositions (desde, durante, hasta).

 

UNIDAD 3

- Expressing preferences.

- Describing houses and apartments.

- Purchasing furniture.

- Locating objects in spaces.​

- Describing household objects.

What you will learn (classes 7-10):

  • Comparatives (mas...que, menos...que, tan...como).

  • Prepositions (sin, con, debajo, encima, detrás, delante).

  • Possessive pronouns (el mío, la mía, el tuyo, la tuya, la suya).

  • Uses of ser and estar.

  • The verbs gustar, encantar, preferir.

 

LEVEL 5

UNIDAD 4

- How to express ourselves on special occasions.

- Asking for things, request actions and favours.

- Requesting and giving permissions.

- Providing reasons to excuse ourselves.

What you will learn (classes 1-3):

  • The regular and irregular gerund.

  • Estar + gerund.

  • Conditional tense.

 

UNIDAD 5

- Speaking about leisure activities.

- Speaking about time.

- Describing past experiences.

- Describing places.

- Speak about intentions and plans.

What you will learn (classes 4-6):

  • El preterito perfecto.

  • Ya / todavia no.

  • Ir a + infinitive.

  • Querer/pensar + infinitive.

 

UNIDAD 6

- Speaking about culinary habits.

- Describing how to prepare meals.

What you will learn (classes 7-10):

  • Personal pronouns (direct object).

  • Impersonal forms of the verb SE.

  • Uses of ser and estar.

  • Y/pero/ademas.

 

LEVEL 6

UNIDAD 7

- Describing personal experiences.

- Expressing the value of persons and things.

- Speaking about the desire of doing things.

What you will learn (classes 1-3):

  • Preterito perfecto and preterito indefinido.

  • Uses of me, te, le, os, les gustaria.

  • Exclamatory phrases.

 

UNIDAD 8

- Asking for & giving advice.

- Speaking about mood.

- Describing physical pain and other symptoms.

What you will learn (classes 4-6):

  • Uses of the verbs ser and estar.

  • The verb doler.

  • The imperative form.

 

UNIDAD 9

- Speaking about habits (using the past tense).

- Speaking about actions in the present and past tense.

- Arguments and debates in Spanish.

What you will learn (classes 7-10):

  • El preterito imperfecto.

  • Ya no/todavia.

  • Temporal markers in the past tense.

  • Temporal markers in the present tense.

UNIDAD 10

- Describing personal anecdotes (the past tense).

What you will learn (classes 7-10):

  • Irregular forms of preterito indefinido.

  • Comparing preterito indefinido vs preterito imperfecto.

  • Past tense of estar + gerund.

  • Temporal markers in the narrative.
